Someone contacted me on flickr.com to see if they could use one of my Lake Tahoe pictures for a new website called Schmap. Of course I'm not going to say no!! I'm surprised they wanted to use it. The map above is from Schmap. I'm still figuring out exactly what they do, but I think it's still cool.
This is the photo they used.
So it's come and gone. Gibson's first birthday party. It's kind of depressing now that it's over. But it was fun. Everyone helped pull it all together. It was a really nice day too. Not too hot. Gibson was such a good, cute little man. And he really seemed like he was a year old yesterday. My little boy is growing up.
Yikes I'm tired. Thank the lord that it's Friday.
- I'm: waiting for Gibson to wake up
- The Noise: baseball game
- The Weather: cloudy
I forgot to mention in my last entry that last week at work, something very weird happened to me. Rochelle and I were talking in an empty cube where I had just finished putting some binders together for another coworker. And I was sitting down, she was standing. I forget what we were talking about, but she was saying something and suddenly I felt my heart.......start skipping beats it felt like. I'm not sure exactly if it was skipping beats, beating faster, or what. But I lost my breath and then things started to go black. You know that dizzy feeling and complete loss of control right before you pass out?
I interrupted Rochelle and said, I'm going to pass out. It started to go black and then everything stopped. I didn't pass out. My heart felt like it was back on track, and I was breathing ok. I felt a little light headed. She was like, are you ok, are you ok? Within a few minutes I felt totally fine.
I don't have any idea what it was. I've had the heart racing before for a second or two before, quite often actually. But never to the point where I felt I was going to pass out. It was pretty scary. I've only passed out once before. And that was from a severe sunburn I had gotten on my legs. I was in the kitchen to get water, and for some reason I blacked out and woke up on the floor with my mom and dad over me. I'm sure they thought I was doing drugs or something.
So, yea. I guess if it happens again I should get it checked out.
- I'm: cleaning the house
- The Noise: backyardigans again
- The Weather: sunny and already warm
This is the second time I will have ever been to a fair. And I'm dying to eat more corn on the cob!! I couldn't believe last year, how good it was!! And of course all the other fried food. But the corn is what I'm really waiting for. And it will be Gibson's first time at the fair. Well, he went the first time I did, but he was just a fetus. So he probably doesn't remember much.
AND! I got another raise at work this past week! Best part is that we don't have to sit through a review. They just give you the raise. So that's nice.
- I'm: pretty tired
- The Noise: Who's the Boss
- The Weather: cooler thank goodness
It's weird, I feel like I'm busier than I ever have been in my life, yet still nothing really is going on. This is a big year though, I guess. Big birthdays. Gibson will be 1 and I'll be ..... ugh... 30. But we won't talk about that. Casey and I will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary.
Last friday night, some of the ladies and I had a "girls night out" sort of. We went and saw Paula Poundstone. I really thought I was going to hate it, thought I hated Paula Poundstone. But she was really funny. I've seen funnier people, but she was pretty funny, for a girl. Most chick stand up comedians don't really make me laugh. Ellen is hilarious but I haven't seen any other women who were that funny.
Right now I'm watching Who's the Boss on ION channel. Lol. This was my favorite show back int he day. I loved it. I still do. That and Three's Company!
- I'm: home with Gibs today, he's sick
- The Noise: an airplane and a dog barking upstairs!
- The Weather: cloudy
- I'm: still angry!!!
- The Noise: air conditioners outside
- The Weather: pretty hot (like in the upper 70's)
Today I got reamed by my boss for no reason. Well, not really reamed. More like fussed at. Long story short, my coworker took her afternoon break to get gas and my boss was mad that she left and didn't tell her she was going. But it was like, uh, since when do we have to tell you we are taking our breaks. It's not like we work somewhere you need us every minute. It was weird. I don't know what happened. It kind of came out of no where. And since my boss asked me where my coworker was she fussed at me. Whatever.
Then, going to pick up Gibson from daycare, I'm slowing down to turn left into the babysitters drive way and just started turning the wheel when this car goes flying by me on my left side! I had to slam on my breaks to keep from hitting her. I froze for about 3 seconds and started feeling my face turn red, I was getting angry. I stepped on the gas and took after her. I caught up with her and held down my horn. Then I yelled out the window, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?!?! I was so angry. She looked at me in her rear view. I followed her to the grocery store, not on purpose, I just was trying to turn around. But god, I was so pissed off. It's a good thing that I didn't already have Gibson in the car because I seriously think I would have gotten out of my car to beat her ass. I'm telling you, I am a very different person behind the wheel. Casey has had to calm me down numerous times.
Ugh!!!! I was shaking so bad when I got back to the babysitters. I know I shouldn't let things like that get to me so badly, but I really can't help it. I'm sure a lot of people know what I'm talking about. I just don't understand stupid drivers.
- I'm: fried
- The Noise: office noise
- The Weather: sunny and HOT
Oh my god!!! I'm at work and the phones are ringing like crazy!! AND I'm the only one in the department right now who answers phones. Actually all day I'm the only one! My boss is on PTO today. Rochelle is on Jury Duty, and the other one is supposedly at a job interview up north. Our voicemail system is completely fried. So we have no automatic answering that people can just punch in the extension they want. All calls have to come through me. AND when I transfer to an extension, if the person is not there to pick up, their voicemail will not pick up because it's fried. SO, I have to take handwritten messages for everyone!!
Just like in the olden days. This day is total crap. It's actually not THAT bad. But it would be better if someone was here to back me up. I had to eat lunch answering phones. And the bathroom? Forget about it. There's no such thing as bathrooms today.
- I'm: on the couch
- The Noise: the air conditioner
- The Weather: pretty warm
One more day of work before our Vegas vacation!! I can't wait! This is the longest time between Vegas trips. I think it's been two years. And I've probably been every year since 2000. Anyways, it's going to be FUN. Rochelle is going, John and Dana will be out there with some of their friends and Casey's boss (who bought the concert tickets) will be there too. He's really cool. He bought like 6 or 8 tickets to the Police concert, which I've probably already mentioned.
We're staying at the Tropicana. Online the rooms look like the Golden Girls house. Lol, lots of wicker. But the pool is suppose to be really cool. Rochelle rented a cabana for the day for us to have. Which comes with a cabana boy I believe. Nice.
It's also the first real trip away from my Gibs. I don't know how I'll handle it. The older he gets the harder it is for me to leave him somewhere for very long. He's so much fun now. Going to work all day is more difficult than when I first went back.
Last night Casey's cousin, Katie had her High School graduation. Yikes, I met her 7 years ago and she was just a little kid. So weird. All the "little kids" in his family I met 7 years ago are so grown up now. It's strange.
Tomorrow night is Casey's mom's birthday dinner. We're going to a rib place that I don't really care THAT much for, I guess I'm not a rib person. So I could take it or leave it.
And then Friday morning we are leaving for Vegas. Casey's mom is coming over around 8am and we plan to leave by 9. Rochelle is going to drive. It's pretty cool because we've always been the taxi drivers out to Vegas and our friends hitched a ride with us. So it will be nice for a change.
